I normally only listen to music while working that really gets me in the zone. Despite that limited scope of listening, I have a fairly large library to fit different types of work and moods. Even though electronic music all sound pretty similar to a lot of people, I'm actually pretty picky when it comes to what I listen too, and there are very few artists who consistently produce works that I'll allow into my curated library. Typically when I find a new DJ/producer/artist I like, only 1-3 songs from their whole discography are good enough to add.
It's clear that I'm a pretty bad music snob when it comes to what I listen to for work, but for any other purpose, I like most kinds of music really.
These are all artists/producers who I like at least a quarter of their discography, in order of preference.
Name | Genre | Best Songs | Description | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Savant | Complextro, Glitch Hop, EDM, Experimental, Dubstep | Starfish (also the Blanco Remix) Savior (instrumental) Sons of Babel Living iPod Bananonymous Robin Hood |
Savant (Aleksander Vinter) is the only producer who I actively follow. He somehow maintains an instantly recognizable style while still having an impressive variety throughout his discography. Possibly an acquired taste for some, but makes every other producer look bad once you realize how good he is. | |
Feed Me | Electro house, Dubstep | Relocation Blood Red Little Cat Steps Lonely Mountain |
Distinctive style and addicting complex bass lines. Feed Me's Relocation is a modern masterpiece. | |
Infected Mushroom | Psytrance | Heavyweight Bliss on Mushrooms (feat. Miyavi) Kafkaf Sa'eed Guitarmass |
Undeniably the best psytrance group since 1996 when they were formed. Unlike the psytrance artists that abound today, Infected Mushroom peppers their music with nuance and intricacy, and makes their music more about the melody and mid/high range synths and vocals, rather than droning on with a driving, overpowering baseline. | |
Apashe | Bass, Dubstep, Classical | Renaissance 2.0 Never Change Witch Lord & Master |
Seamless mix of classical with bass heavy, lyrical music. Excelent production technically. | |
Mord Fustang | Electro house, Complextro | Lick The Rainbow Super Fever Windwaker Champloo |
Similar style as Feed Me but with more Electro house inspired music. | |
Wolfgang Gartner | Electro house, Progressive house, Complextro | Battlestations Illmerica The Way It Was Undertaker Killer Love & War Wolfgang's 5th Symphony |
Can't stop listening to Battlestations | |
OVERWERK | Electro house | Wolfgang Gartner - Space Junk (OVERWERK Remix) 12:30 Daybreak Force Canon |

There are lots of songs that I love from artists or producers that I generally don't listen to. Here are some of those songs.
